Michael Gayoso, Jr. ~ Crawford County Attorney
Sworn into office on January 12, 2009 by the Hon. Judge David F. Brewster, Gayoso brings 10 years of criminal law experience to the office of the County Attorney. He has argued before the Kansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals and in 1999 was selected as a member to the National Order of Barristers for his strong courtroom advocacy skills.
He earned his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio.
He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association (KBA) and is President of the KBA Criminal Law Section, member of the Crawford County Bar Association (Past President), and the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association.
Gayoso is married to Candace Gayoso and they have three children. They live in Frontenac and are members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Reina J. Probert ~ Deputy County Attorney
Probert is responsible for the felony Pittsburg docket. She handles a wide array of cases including drugs, person and nonperson felonies and sex crimes. She has been practing law for 18 years and graduated from Washburn School of Law in Topeka, Kansas.
Mary Jo Goedeke ~ Assistant County Attorney
Goedeke is primarily responsible for the juvenile docket, care and treatments and preliminary hearings scheduled in Girard. She has been in the County Attorney's Office for 3 years and graduated of Kansas University School of Law in Lawrence and obtained her Masters of Law Degree in Taxation from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
John G. Mazurek ~ Assistant County Attorney
Mazurek handles the misdemeanor docket in Girard and the worthless checks and traffic docket in Pittsburg. Mazurek graduated from Washburn School of Law in Topeka and has been practicing law for 18 years.
Whitney Brunetti ~ Office Manager
Brunetti joined the administration in 2009. She earned her Masters Degree in Human Resources from Pittsburg State Univerity. She manages all the staff at the Girard and Pittsburg offices and handles the day to day operations.
Teresa E. Gladson ~ Office Supervisor
Gladson brings over 20 years of legal administration skills to the office. She primarily handles the discovery and correspondence with opposing counsel and pro se defendants. She earned her paralegal degree from Pittsburg State University.
Christina K. Lucas ~ Witness/Victim Coordinator
For the first time since its inception, the Crawford County Attorney's Office has a full time position dedicated to serving victims of crimes and witnesses. Christina is responsible for victim notification, helps determine restitution amount and assists in locating services for victims utilizing community resources. She also serves as a contact for law enforcement.
Christy A. Barton ~ Juvenile and Adult Misdemeanor Clerk
Barton works on all matters pertaining to the juvenile and care and treatment
cases. She works on all truancy, juvenile offender, child in need
of care cases, and adult misdemeanor cases. She graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Previously she worked at Kansas Childrens Service League as a Family Service Representative.
Evelyn M. Crawford ~ Pittsburg Clerk
Crawford works in the Pittsburg office handling all matters pertaining to worthless checks and traffic cases. She has worked for the County Attorney's Office for 4 years.
